I had not completed the KYC because of the urgency of travel. When my eSIM did not work, I reached out to Matrix and they confirmed that KYC is pending from my side. They gave me multiple options to submit the KYC documents (via email or via webform). I used the latter - since they had sent an email reminder as well. As soon as I submitted the KYC docs, the eSIM was activated and International Roaming started working. Connectivity etc was as per expectations.
